The Ragbirds swooped in from Michigan to give Oxford an audio appetizer at Music in the Hall, before their show later at Proud Larrys’. Led by dynamic and energetic front woman and multi-instrumentalist Erin Zindle, the Ragbirds utilize an arsenal of instruments from around the world. Their music is a fusion of folk rock and pop hooks over danceable world rhythms stirred with a Celtic fiddler’s bow.
Local guitarist and songwriter Jake Fussell, after performing earlier on Thacker Mountain Radio as part of the house band, also played a set. Fussell grew up Columbus, Georgia, and now lives in Oxford, performing in various bands, including the house band at Thacker Mountain Radio, and does solo gigs around the area.
Music in the Hall is a grass roots music series based in Oxford, Mississippi, and hosted by Daniel Morrow on the Square and other intimate locations since November 2008. HD digital downloads and DVDs are available for purchase, but all content displayed on the Music in the Hall site is free.
