10 Things To Do in Atlanta, Ga.

There’s no doubt that Rebel fans love to travel, especially if Ole Miss football is the key event!  So, as the fan-base packs up and heads to Atlanta next week for the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game against Boise State, here are ten more attractions to round out this Labor Day weekend and the official start to the 2014 football season!

1. Visit the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown Atlanta. The Hall of Fame is set to host their Grand Opening on August 23, so Rebel fans will be some of the first visitors next week. The CFH is 94,000 square-feet, features a 45-yeard indoor football field, and showcases eight Rebel footballers: Jake Gibbs, Bruiser Kinard, Archie Manning, Coach Johnny Vaught, Parker “Bullet” Hall, Charlie Flowers, Charlie Conerly, and Barney Pool. 2. Get immersed in the Chick-Fil-A Why We Love College Football Fan Experience. Located inside the College Football Hall of Fame, the Fan Experience features high-tech exhibits and 52-foot long touchscreen, and a first glance at the new National Championship Trophy, trophies for the six playoff games, and more. 3. Get lost in the Georgia Aquarium. The Aquarium, located in downtown Atlanta, calls itself “the world’s most magical aquarium” because it features more animals than any other aquarium in just 10 million gallons of water. 4. Try Coca-Cola from around the world at Atlanta’s World of Coca-Cola Museum. The museum holds the 125-year-old secret recipe to the world’s favorite soft drink, as well as more than 1,200 Coca-Cola artifacts, a 4-D movie experience and a (sometimes) delicious tasting room of Coca-Cola products from around the world. 5. Cheer on the Atlanta Braves vs. the Miami Marlins at Turner Field. The three-game series starts on Friday, August 29 at 7:35 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity to make your ball-game road trip into a weekend sports getaway. Find tickets and more information here.
6. Visit Centennial Olympic Park in the heart of Atlanta. Built to commemorate the 1996 Summer Olympic games, Centennial Park is currently the largest downtown park in the country built in the last 25 years. Centennial Park regularly hosts concerts, markets, and other events. Every Tuesday and Thursday, Music@Noon is a free concert series at the park. 7. Tour the world headquarters of CNN News. The 50-minutue Inside CNN Tour gives visitors behind-the-scenes access to all of CNN’s programing, including tours of the CNN and HLN studios and control rooms. 8. Float the Chattahoochee River. Located in Roswell, Georgia, just miles from downtown Atlanta, Shoot the Hooch offers rafting, canoeing, paddle boarding and tubing trips down the Chattahoochee river. Since Rebel fans will be visiting the ATL on Labor Day weekend, this could be the last opportunity of the year to get your feet wet. 9. Search for stars on an Atlanta Movie Tour. Are a fan of The Walking Dead? Or the Hunger Games? What about The Blind Side and Gone with the Wind?
