Yalobusha Giants Hit Their Way to Championships in Fall Tournament

The Yalobusha Giants wrapped up a successful fall baseball season with victories in the USSSA October Hard Hitter tournament this weekend.

“The hitting was phenomenal this past weekend,” said Russ Pratt, manager/cofounder of the Yalobusha Giants baseball organization. “Our teams have devoted many hours in the indoor hitting facility at the Oxford Lafayette Sportsplex and the hard work was obvious this weekend,” said Pratt.

The Giants teams hit a combined 11 home runs this weekend. Pratt partly attributes the hitting to the indoor facility but also due to the work ethic of the players and the hard work of the coaches. “We have so many qualified coaches. When someone is working out, there is always a coach to help provide quality instruction,” said Pratt.

The Yalobusha Giants entered 4 teams for this weekend’s final fall tournament. Overall, the Giants organization as a whole went 20-1 for the tournament.
