After 12 years, Ole Miss Head Basketball Coach Andy Kennedy will announce he’s stepping down from his position in a press conference at 3 p.m. today, according to media reports, including the Clarion Ledger.
Kennedy’s resignation, which was first announced by Rivals.com’s Neal McCready, will be effective at the end of the season.
Although Kennedy is the Rebels’ all-time winningest coach, his team has struggled in recent years, failing to be in the running for the NCAA tournament for the past three seasons. With an 11-14 overall record so far, the Rebels presently sit near the bottom of the conference and have lost five straight games.
This is a developing story with more to come.
