911 Hang Up, Careless Driving And More In Today’s Crime Report

Crime ReportOxford police responded to the following calls: Two 911 hang ups, abandon vehicle, two alarms, ambulance assist, two animal complaint, careless driving, civil matter, four disturbing the peace, elderly assist, fire department assist, improper parking, lost property, two motorists assist, property damage, three suspicious activity, suspicious vehicle, two welfare concern, wrong way on one way.

Oxford police investigated seven accidents, 29 tickets and made the following arrest:
DUI 1st, Possession of Schedule 2 Drug, MIP
DUI 1st, Ran Red Light
DUI 1st, Speeding
MDOC Warrant, Possession of Schedule 2 Drug, Expired Tag
No Driver’s License, No Insurance
Warrant Served-Child Support-Out of State

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Four accidents, simple assault, three alarms, three animal complaints, four disturbances, 17 service calls, two suspicious activities, welfare concern, transport, traffic complaint, fraud, two reckless driving, civil matter.

Oxford Fire Department:
09:34 – Campus Creek Bldg. 3 – water flow alarm malfunction again 
14:31 – Phi Mu house – shower steam activated a smoke detector
15:05 – McElroy / Post Office – minor wreck – drivers refused any medical care – stood by for OPD to arrive
17:07 – 7 Oak Place – smell of gas call – no gas leak – they had been painting the residence and was the smell of paint

University Police: Vehicle stop, accident hit n run, suspicious person, accident property damage, ambulance needed, accident property damage, serving a warrant.
