Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) Excel By 5, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club, to host Community Water Day at Avent Park, July 22nd, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Oxford, MS (July 12, 2017) – The LOU Excel By 5 Coalition in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club of the LOU Community and other community organizations will host their annual Community Water Day on Saturday, July 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Avent Park on Park Drive in Oxford.
The Community Water Day is an event designed to offer summertime fun to all ages. Water Day aims to bring local families together for a morning of summertime fun, and will serve as an end-of-summer-programming celebration for the students of the Boys & Girls Club. Partner organizations include Good Food for Oxford Schools, Mothers Demand Action for Gun Sense, and Kindermusik with Jeanne & Friends. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will feature several age-appropriate activities, including multiple slip-n-slides, a water balloon play area, parachute time, and a Baby Water Park. Each organization will provide a summertime activity to attendees.
Children can have fun with painting, excavating small toys from ice, hula-hooping, and chalk-drawing. Slip-n-slides will be available for younger and older children, as well as a water balloon play area. Kiddie pools, a music-themed activity and educational toys will be provided in the Excel By 5 Baby Water Park for families of children 0-5 years old. Refreshments and sunscreen will also be provided to all attendees.
