Oxford (29-5) comes into this highly-contested rivalry against New Hope after rolling past Ridgeland, taking two of three games from Lewisburg at the Mississippi High School Athletic Association State Baseball Playoffs.

The Trojans come into the North Half with a 21-12 overall record on the season. The Trojans took care of business on the diamond against Lake Cormorant and Neshoba Central in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

Coach Lee Boyd’s club took Germantown to game three before advancing to play for a chance to represent the North in the state championship in Pearl, Mississippi.

These two teams have met on the diamond three times this season prior to tonight’s game. The Chargers took two of three from New Hope, but on April 11, the Trojans defeated the Chargers 8-5.

Tonight’s first pitch is slated for 7 p.m.

Oxford’s trying to get back and win the 5A state crown for the third consecutive year before moving up to the 6A level next school year.
