Former Ole Miss Head Coach Ed Orgeron Replaces Les Miles At LSU
Sunday, LSU named Ed Orgeron as head coach to lead the Tigers through the remainder of the 2016 season. Ole Miss knows this man well as he led the Rebels for three seasons.
The Tigers decided to end its tenure with Coach Les Miles after an 18-13 loss on the Plains to Auburn.
The game came down to the last second play with LSU driving to score the game-winning touchdown. Once the ball was set for play and the Tigers lined up, the clock hit all zeros before they could snap the ball and hit a touchdown to win the game.
Miles leaves LSU with an overall 114-34 record, five top-ten finishes, two national championship appearances and one national title in 2007. When the announcement was made that he was going to be let go, Miles was in the fourth game of his 12th season walking the LSU sidelines.
Orgeron stepped in for Lane Kiffin at USC and the Trojans went 6-2 under him. Prior to USC Orgeron was at Ole Miss for three seasons 2005-2007 with a record 10-25.
The Rebels will head into Baton Rouge on October 22 to tangle with the Bayou Bengals and Coach O.
