Ole Miss Student Sells ‘Happy Notes’ at Double Decker Arts Festival
Hattiesburg native and Ole Miss student, Greer Andrews is the owner and operator of “happy notes by greer,” a greeting card and stationary business. Andrews has a booth today at this year’s Double Decker Arts Festival in Oxford only one year after starting her company.
Andrews officially launched happy notes, a self-proclaimed “creative company specializing in products that are hand drawn and painted then printed for everyone,” in March of 2015 with their largest following stemming from their Instagram account.
“I have always loved handwritten things and appreciated penmanship,” Andrews said. “It all started when I made a birthday card for one of my friends two years ago this Thanksgiving. My mom saw the card told me that I should do something more with it. I was hesitant at first, but my family continued to support me. They are really what pushed me further into creating a concrete business and, also knowing that it was something that I would continue to enjoy doing.”
Andrew’s ascetic is playful and, well, happy. Each item including cards, prints, canvas paintings, t-shirts, coffee mugs and candles is distinctly part of her brand, which is quickly expanding. happy notes’ mantra is to simply “Spread Happy” and their customers have eagerly latched onto the simplicity of their message.
“Our products are fun and bright and people recognize that the products are meant to be happy,” Andrews said. “Since I am an Ole Miss student, it is special to be able to stand out in the Oxford community. I am excited to get to meet the other people participating in Double Decker, as well.”
happy notes’ products are available for purchase on their website, http://www.happynotesbygreer.com, at fourteen retailers across Mississippi and today at Double Decker in Booth 90 located directly in front of Old Venice.
