Perez To Participate With Latin American Select Team At Final Four
Ole Miss senior forward Anthony Perez has been named a member of the inaugural Latin America Select Team that will be showcased at the 2016 Final Four this weekend.
Perez, a native of Cumana, Venezuela, just wrapped up his Rebel career after playing in 120 games during his four-year career and helped Ole Miss advance in the NCAA Tournament two times.
Latin American basketball players from NCAA universities and International Basketball Federations have been invited to participate, including fellow Venezuelan and SEC standout Michael Carrera from South Carolina. The team was brought together in conjunction with FIBA and the NCAA to honor outstanding Latin American basketball players, and will be featured at several events during the Final Four weekend in Houston.
As part of Final Four Weekend, 14 of the top Latin American collegiate players will participate in the inaugural game that will take place Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Buick Arena, in Houston, Texas. Other Final Four activities include an autograph session Friday and recognition during the Final Four semifinal games Saturday.
Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela, will be represented in the event, that will highlight the basketball, the music, the spectacle, the charisma and emotion that is Latin America.
