Unique Screening of Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ Coming to Malco’s Oxford Commons June 16
Pixar Animation Studios releases one film a year, hyping it up sometimes for multiple years in advance with teaser trailers leading up to a grand late-June premiere. This summer, the animation company’s latest release, Inside Out, hits movie theaters nationwide June 19, but Oxford residents will have a chance for an exclusive screening with tons of extras a few days early.
Malco’s Oxford Commons movie theater on Sisk Avenue will screen the 150-minute film along with the preceding animated short, Ava, at 6 p.m. June 16. After the film, audiences will be treated to an exclusive Q&A with director Pete Docter, producer Jonas Rivera and the voice of Joy, Amy Poehler, live via satellite from their Australian tour.
The movie, rated PG, focuses on a young girl who has just moved to a new home while her emotions, voiced by Poehler, Mindy Kaling (Disgust), Bill Hader (Fear), Lewis Black (Anger) and Phyllis Smith (Sadness), are plunged into chaos as they compete for control of her mind.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the Oxford Commons box office. General admission for adults and children is $23.
