Ole Miss Students Protest Shooting Death of South Carolina’s Walter Scott

University of Mississippi students gathered Wednesday in the Student Union courtyard to protest the death of Walter Scott, 50, who was shot in the back eight times by former North Charleston, South Carolina, officer Michael Slager.

Originally organized by Ole Miss student Allen Coon, black and white men and women laid down in front of the union during a 20-minute die-in, chanting “Black Lives Matter” and holding signs.
