Top 5 Gifts For Ole Miss Fans
The holiday season is upon us once again. This is the time of year to think of the best gift ideas for those special people in your life. If you happen to have a Rebel fan on your list, Hotty Toddy is here to help you out. We’ve created a go-to list of the Top 5 Ole Miss gifts and the best spots to buy them.
1. Ole Miss Apparel
You can’t go wrong with buying clothing that supports a fan’s favorite school. “I want an Ole Miss pullover, not a sweatshirt or zip-up jacket but the one that’s in between, because you can never have too many, and they can be worn with almost anything, all around the year, and plus they are super comfy,” says sophomore Callan Byars.
“The Ole Miss vintage tee for girls is the best gift. We can’t keep it in stock. It’s definitely our top seller,” said Virginia Rundle, a Cicada employee.
Beyond clothing, Jamie Young, a freshman dentistry major, says she wants a fluffy Ole Miss blanket, especially around this time of year. You’ll find items like these at the Ole Miss Bookstore, Rebel Rags on West Jackson Avenue and the shops on the Oxford Square, to name a few.
2. Game Tickets
What a gift this would be for a die hard Ole Miss fan — tickets to see their favorite Rebels in action. Although football season is almost over, there is still a promised bowl game, and basketball tickets will come in handy very soon.
You can purchase Ole Miss Tickets online at www.olemisssports.com.
3. Christmas Ornaments
What’s a Rebel fan’s Christmas tree without Ole Miss ornaments? Turkoyz on the Square has red, white and blue glass ornaments in the shape the Lyceum. If you’re looking for something more traditional, the Ole Miss bookstore on campus carries ball-shaped ornaments painted with the school’s famous nickname.
4. Ole Miss Party Supplies
Grovin’ on the Ole Miss campus is not just a thing but a tradition, so you might pick up some fancy tailgating supplies for the Grove, or re-purpose them for a holiday party. From Ole Miss plates and platters to Ole Miss cups and bowls, the campus bookstore and Leap Frog on the Square have it all.
5. Commemorative Books
There’s no better keepsake than a book commemorating one’s time at Ole Miss. Amazon.com has several available, like “Ole Miss: A “Photographic Essay,” which uses photographs to showcase the beauty of the campus. For the cook in your family, the Ole Miss Bookstore sells has “The Southern Tailgating Cookbook.”
