A Hunk o’ burnin’ spirit.

What a beautiful morning in the Grove and an excellent afternoon in the stadium. We were good, very good, with a 41-20 win. It doesn’t get any better than that. I felt sorry for all those Auburn fans having to watch their team collapse on foreign turf, then make their long drives back home with heavy hearts while we celebrated.
I had a good feeling strolling around the Grove early Saturday. You could almost feel the win coming in the air. Four Ole Miss alum Elvis impersonators at one tent enthusiastically predicted the win. You could catch that enthusiasm while participating in the Elvis’s Hotty Toddy cheer. They put their heart and soul into it and sprinkled some Elvis attitude on top for an added touch. These guys have fun, and it is all for a good cause.
They raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis and save children in need by wearing full Elvis jumpsuits, smoking big cigars, wearing oversized TCB pinky rings, and drinking cocktails. These gentlemen were a must-see to round out the homecoming Grove experience. Many folks stopped by their tent to sing Hound Dog and pose for pictures.
